Help & getting started

Communities is a private, invitation-only home for people who want to live lightly on the planet. Here’s every feature and how to use it.

1. Sign in with your wallet

There are no usernames or passwords. Your identity is your Ethereum wallet, so your memberships travel with you across devices.

Getting in

  1. Get invited by someone already in a community — membership is invitation-only.
  2. Open Sign in and pick a provider: Browser Wallet (MetaMask and friends), WalletConnect, or Ledger.
  3. Confirm the signature in your wallet. Your address is used only to recognise you.

2. Your dashboard

After signing in you land on your workspace. It gives you a quick look at your whole life on Communities:

  • At a glance — counts of your communities, threads, posts, and comments.
  • My Communities — every group you belong to, your role in each, and when it was created.
  • Recent Activity — your latest threads, posts, and comments with direct links back to them.

Use the New Community button to start your own group.

3. Communities

A community is a quiet, private space with its own members and topics. Anyone can create one.

Creating a community

  • From the dashboard, press New Community.
  • Give it a name, an address (slug), a description, and pick who can see it (see Visibility).
  • You become the community admin automatically.

Joining a community

  • Open communities: press Join and you’re in immediately.
  • Closed communities: press Request to join and an admin approves you.
  • Secret communities: only visible to members — you must be added by an admin or invited by wallet.

Managing a community

Admins can edit the community, delete it, open the Members page, and add or remove members by wallet address.

4. Threads

Threads are the topics inside a community — like noticeboard posts with a title and a body. Each thread collects related posts underneath it.

Starting a thread

  1. Open a community and press New Thread.
  2. Write a title and use the rich text editor for the body (see The rich text editor).
  3. Press Create Thread. You can edit or delete your own thread any time.

5. Posts

Posts are replies within a thread. Use them to share guides, project updates, answers, and questions.

Writing a post

  • Open a thread and press New Post.
  • Choose who can read it: Community members (only this community), All members (every signed-in member), or Public (visible to guests too).
  • Edit or delete your own post from the thread or the post page.

6. Comments

Comments are short replies under a single post — the lightest way to ask a question, offer a fix, or pass on a tip. Signed-in members can comment on any post they can view.

7. The rich text editor

Threads, posts, comments, and community descriptions use a rich editor. You can add:

  • Headings and paragraphs
  • Lists, checklists, and tables
  • Quotes and code blocks
  • Images — uploaded and stored with your post
  • Embeds — paste a YouTube link to embed a video, or share a link card to any site
  • Warnings and dividers to structure longer posts

On plain pages you can also type Markdown-style text; simple paragraphs are rendered automatically.

8. Visibility & access

Both communities and posts have access levels, so you control exactly who sees your work.

Community visibility

  • Open — anyone signed in can see it and join.
  • Closed — anyone signed in can see it, but joining needs an admin’s approval.
  • Secret — only members can see it at all.

Post visibility

  • Community members — visible only inside this community.
  • All members — visible to every signed-in member.
  • Public — visible to everyone, even people who aren’t signed in.

9. Membership & roles

Roles

  • Member — can read, write threads, posts, and comments.
  • Admin — can also manage the community, its members, and pending join requests.

Managing members

On the Members page (admin only) you can:

  • Add Member — add someone by wallet address and choose their role.
  • Join Requests — approve or reject people who asked to join a closed community.
  • Ban / Unban — block a member from a community, or lift the block.
  • Remove — take a member out of the community entirely.
  • Pending Invitations — see people invited by wallet who haven’t signed in yet.

10. Reports & moderation

Reporting content

Any signed-in member can report a post or a comment with a short reason. Press the Report button next to any post or comment to flag it.

Resolving reports

Platform admins review reports on the Reports page and mark each one Resolved or Dismissed.

Still stuck?

This project has no ads and is run by real people. If something’s broken or unclear, your community admin can help — or reach out through the support link on the landing page.
